Ein Prunkstück des Musée Paul Dupuy in Toulouse ist dieser Automat des berühmten Magiers u nd Automatenbauers Robert-Houdin von 1844, das mit der Collection Gélis in dieses Museum kam. Mehr dazu erfährt man im YT-Text: „Measuring 77 x 69 x 45 cms, this automata depicts a noblewoman and her attendant in the exercise of teaching a song bird to sing by means of a ’serinette‘, this being a small hand cranked barrel organ with a small number of pipes, designed to imitate bird song. The bird sings a tune, then the serinette is played, the bird then repeats the song and the figures nod in approval. But then the bird deviates somewhat from its instruction, the figures shake their heads and the bird returns to the correct song which again meets their approval and they nod.
Gelis acquired this automata in the 1920’s, from the widow of Robert-Houdin’s son. This probably accounts for its survival in remarkable condition“
