Benjamin Cowden: The Manhattan Project Cocktail Machine

Im Begleittext heisst es: „A mechanical Manhattan cocktail machine! I made this during an Artist Residency at Autodesk’s Pier 9 facility in San Francisco in 2014. It’s chassis and most parts are stainless steel, with 3D printed parts and some lab glass to give it a chemistry experiment theme. Mechanically, there is a single crank input that drives a cam shaft, which activates the three ingredients (it’s hard to see the bitters delivery, but there is a pipette along the „spine“ of the machine that drips a few drops of bitters into the mixing cup) and then mixes and pours the beverage. At the end of the cycle, a small bell signals completion.“
