The creator of the YouTube channel Joseph’s Machines invites audiences behind the scenes to witness the creation of his viral videos. Watch in real time as he builds and films his biggest contraption yet: a human-scale morning routine machine where the performer is hoisted out of bed and propelled down a conveyor belt to be mechanically dressed and fed. In a society obsessed with productivity, the project is a joyful rebellion. By making simple tasks absurdly complicated, it celebrates the beauty of deliberate inefficiency and asks how to reclaim joy in a hyper-optimized world. The installation explores the art of failure, and the importance of play in the creation process. Success is fundamentally built on a willingness to experiment, get things wrong and try again.
